Probably my favorite film by Hayao Miyazaki. worth watching with subs as apposed to dubs- even though you miss out on Billy Bob Thorten this film pre-dates Miramax putting any effort into their overdubs. We can thank this film for cell shading too as it was invented by Miyazaki for the early scenes which take the viewpoint of Ashitaka atop his Elk. ricb.net

If you can track this film down its worth your time. Like much of Herzog’s work its a film to let wash over you. it lingers in my memory as one of my favorite viewing experiances of all time. Probably assisted by the surrounds of the fantastic Gene Siskel Film Center. ricb.net

Fantastic work by Duncan Jones, In many ways I prefer this film to Moon becuase it is an tight revision on many similar ideas and locations. Shot so slick with amazing colour grading and clarity. I also think its a relativly brave ending considering it favours a more romantic notion of the premiss the film suggests. Well edited tight film. ricb.net

Fassbender and McQueen doing what they do very well. Fantastic Cinamatography, Soundtrack and Location scouting to back it up. This one takes focus and a stiff drink. Things are going to get a little blue. ricb.net
